José Luis Saorín Ferrer's portfolio is not a webpage: it is a surface. A sheet of bone-cream paper where every cv entry — biography, education, projects, texts, the people he has worked with — appears as a geometric figure anchored to a breathing membrane. Concentric circles for biographical strata. Sharp triangles for assumed positions. Thick arcs for long-form narratives. Wedges for discrete events. Spirals for languages acquired. The form does not decorate the entry: it defines it. Geometry is metadata.
There are no menus. You navigate by contact — a finger touches a figure and the content surfaces; it moves and the mesh responds, folds like cloth; you let go and it slowly resettles, never quite returning to its previous position. Between the figures float fragments of the author's own literary corpus — loose phrases the reader can catch by tapping them, like fishing words out of the water.
This is a decision against the cv as a list, against the flatness of the professional document. It is an argument — sustained in composition, in colour, in simulated physics — that philology, software, design and theatre are not separate disciplines that happen to share a profile but a single continuous practice, and that the surface where one introduces oneself ought to demonstrate that from the first instant. Reading is not linear because life is not. The document does not stay still because the person does not.

Una criatura niña que recorre la ciudad sobre el raíl, se encuentra con animales que no estaban aquí antes, y al final se mete al mar. Coming-of-age sumergido. Dos paneles hechos.
- Entre el llanto de la brisa y el arrebol del cielo
- Primer poemario, autopublicado a los 16 años, treinta páginas sobre naturaleza y emociones. Honestamente, no es bueno — escritura adolescente con la estructura típica del primer poemario, paisaje como metáfora de uno mismo, métricas dudosas. Pero está, fue antes de todo lo demás, y por eso aparece aquí.
- Wave
- Caligrama trilingüe. Una sola línea —quiero escribir pero me sale espuma…— curvada como una ola y repetida en español, francés e inglés, una debajo de otra, hasta formar tres olas paralelas. La frase, traducida, no se traduce: se vuelve a olear.
- A Sustained Oversight
- El universo era uno y, para que existiéramos, tuvo que olvidar su forma. La grieta de la vida como un descuido que el cosmos sostiene mientras dura un cuerpo, una mano, el olor de los naranjales en una muñeca.
- A Millimetre per Week
- Poema homónimo del poemario en preparación. Tres años de injerto. Los dientes desplazándose un milímetro cada semana hacia una boca que aún no se conoce. Aprender a morder otra vez.
- Milk Teeth
- El primer diente que perdió lo guardó la madre en una caja. Hay partes de los hijos que no caben dentro.
- My Face Is No Longer Yours
- La misma mordida heredada de boca en boca. Los muertos de la familia mordían torcido, apretado, con prisa. La ortodoncia corrige la única frase que aún decían por mí. Hoy también ha muerto mi madre en mi boca.
- Braille
- Fue en verano. Una boca medio dormida lee la columna del otro como un texto breve que solo dura lo que tarda en recorrerla. No sentir, sino ser sentido.
- Touched Water
- Dos cauces que se buscan en la arena hasta fundirse un leve instante. Un beso de agua y sal. Así, tal vez, la vida.
- Birds
- Veo pájaros levantar el vuelo. Recobro una inocencia que apenas recordaba; ser de nuevo aire, ser apenas cuerpo. Y entender, por un instante, que es fácil, tal vez, la libertad.
- Sparks of Foam
- Soneto endecasílabo. La ola que estalla contra la roca y salta en teselas, dientes y polvo. Si no fuera por la repetición de la rotura, la cara quedaría marcada para siempre por la lágrima gris de la memoria.

- Una boca medio dormida en verano, una rodilla que se gira de golpe, sangre con sabor a moneda, una sábana mordida, una naranja con hilo de zumo bajando por una muñeca, un visillo que se mueve contra el cristal mientras la casa respira. La memoria de un encuentro que termina con dos manos sosteniendo, en la puerta, una fruta cada una.
- The Tomb of the Butterflies
- Dos hermanos —ocho años, casi siete— corren por el campo en busca del tesoro del capitán Carallaga. Ana, la pequeña, dibuja patrones de alas en una libreta. La hora del mediodía y un acantilado. Del pecho roto en las rocas brotan, al unísono, decenas de mariposas.
- The Tightrope Walker
- Un hombre encerrado en una biblioteca lleva meses sin dormir. Las partículas de polvo bailan a su alrededor y le obligan, con cada giro, a leer un libro nuevo. Una culpa atronadora le impide soñar. Lee toda la humanidad y, cubriendo cada página de sangre y lágrimas, fabrica con su desgracia una saeta para atravesarse del cuello al corazón.
- Plátano (calligramme)
- Caligrama acróstico. La sangría de cada línea curva el texto sobre la página dibujando una curva que recuerda la silueta de un plátano y, en el mismo gesto, las primeras letras deletrean P-L-Á-T-A-N-O en cascada. Un diálogo interior con la voz que no se calla.
- Before Touch
- Una tarde sobre un balcón. La luz que dibuja líneas en una nuca. Una gota de sudor que recorre una sien hasta los labios. ¿Has notado cómo cambia el aire justo antes de que alguien te toque?
- You Don’t Say Papaya. I Don’t Drink Coffee
- Cuento a dos voces en paralelo: dos columnas tipográficas que cuentan la misma escena desde sus dos sujetos, sin que ninguno de los dos pueda leer al otro hasta que las columnas se colapsan en una sola voz y se dicen, contra una boca, las dos palabras prohibidas.
- Anomaly Log #37602
- Una entidad técnica documenta —con pH, temperaturas, registros de incidente— una anomalía: un líquido que ha caído sobre su carcasa y la atraviesa. Cayó. No: se derramó. La máquina aprende a tener sed, busca saborear en su diccionario operativo y descubre que ya no puede hablar de sí misma sin tartamudear.
- Ch. 8 — Structural Issues
- Un cuento que se presenta como una carta de su editora: tras leer dos veces el capítulo ocho, le señala que el problema no es la prosa —«la mejor que ha escrito»— sino la estructura. Anouk y Jean permanecen juntos al final. Y eso mata. El propio capítulo, anotado al margen por la editora, sigue debajo.
- I Bite
- Naranja con hebras de limón, un teléfono que vibra contra los dientes, una carrera por una calle que se derrite. Un cuerpo que cruza otros cuerpos —una falda, un brazo, una pareja contra una pared— y los registra todos como un inventario de hambre. Al final del recorrido, la misma fruta. Esta vez con limón en la pulpa y restos de naranja.

- Crónica lunar dictada a cuatro mil ochocientas voces felinas. Entre ellas, una hembra blanca de oreja izquierda partida que sube cada noche durante cuatro años a un tejado de la Calçada do Monte para mirar a la Luna —que la ve por error en un charco de la Rua do Salvador. La fiebre se la lleva a las seis y cuarenta, dos minutos antes del amanecer. Maquetación e ilustración a mano.

- Pseudo-ensayo breve. Una ontología del amor heredado: cuando alguien muere, el amor que llevó consigo no se destruye — la muerte, socialista, lo reparte en gotas entre todos los que se cruzaron con esa vida. No lloramos por tristeza, pena o aflicción. Lloramos porque el corazón, que no sabe qué hacer con los excesos, está desbordado de amor.
